Directions To Commonly Hashed Local ON

From PA Turnpike(Exit 286)/Lancaster/Points South: North on 222 to 222BUSINESS. Just before the Rt 422 overpass you will see a sign for Route 10. Turn RIGHT just after the Queen City Diner onto Rt 10 East/South (Morgantown Rd). You will pass apres locations Mimmo's (on the right), Trooper Thorn's (one the left), the Thun Trail parking lot(on left) and go under a train tracks. Just past that you will see the remains of the lake to your right. It is now a marshy field that is becoming overgrown. The park entrance is just ahead on the right. When you come back out Rt 10 to go Lancaster Ave/222BUS *SOUTH* - you will have to either cut across the Queen City Diner parking lot or cut over one block because you can not turn left at 10/222BUS.

Take 422 East into Reading. If coming from north or west go past the city exits. (or if you know how to get off at Penn St. and go through the city and get to Perkiomen Ave then do that, turn left onto 23rd and pick up the directions below after it says to go right onto 23rd.)

Left onto Business 422 (AKA Perkiomen Ave) into Mt. Penn (Bowlarama is on the right and Sovereign Bank is across the street at this intersection of Neversink and Perkiomen Ave.)

Follow Carsonia Ave to the end where there will be a stop sign and the road will intersect with Friedensberg Rd. If you continue straight, which is what you want to do, the road will be called Antietam Rd. Cross this intersection to Antietam Rd.

Just after Hill Rd (which will be first Rd. on the left) there will be a large dirt parking lot on the left. It sits just across from Antietam Lake. ON ON is in that parking lot.

If you need to Mapquest directions you can use: 1825 Reading Blvd, Wyomissing PA This is a private residence with NOTHING to do with hashing so dont knock on his door. The Birthday Hash starts on the street - just look for gathering wankers!

From PA Turnpike(Exit 286)/Lancaster/Points South: North on 222. Right onto Penn Ave/422Business. Short distance turn right onto Clayton Ave then right onto Reading Blvd.

From PA Turnpike(Exit 286)/Lancaster/Points South: North on 222 to 222BUSINESS. Just past Kmart (on hill on left) turn LEFT at the WaWa onto Museum Rd. Go past the Reading Hospital and turn RIGHT onto Penn Ave (Business 422 East). Cross the Schuylkill River and you will see the Pagoda on Mt Penn in front of you at your 1 o'clock. Go thru downtown Reading (Penn Street). Come to a T at the light - you will see the Firefighters Monument. Turn right then turn left on Hill Rd (at the East edge of Penn's Common). You will go up Hill Rd. Continue until you come to Egelman Park on the left. If you hit Spook Lane you have gone too far.

The gates are locked at sundown but you can escape by going out the wrong way and driving through the grass and going by the bushes to the right of the gate.

From PA Turnpike(Exit 286)/Lancaster/Points South: North on 222 to 222BUSINESS. Just past Kmart (on hill on left) turn LEFT at the WaWa onto Museum Rd. Go past the Reading Hospital. Museum Rd becomes 5th Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto Penn Ave (Business 422 East). Go two streets and make hard right onto THIRD AVE. You will see the hideous blue spire of the Penn-View Motel (home of hookers, drug fiends and homeless people). Kaley's sits on the left just past the motel.

From PA Turnpike(Exit 286)/Lancaster/Points South: North on 222 to 222BUSINESS. Just past Kmart (on hill on left) turn LEFT at the WaWa onto Museum Rd. Go past the Reading Hospital and turn RIGHT onto Penn Ave (Business 422 East). Cross the Schuylkill River and you will see the Pagoda on Mt Penn in front of you at your 1 o'clock. Go thru downtown Reading (Penn Street). You will come to a T at Penn's Common. At this traffic light you will need to go straight across and veer left. Watch out, this intersection sucks. Follow Duryea Drive (there is a sign) up and up until you get to the top of the mountain. You will see the Pagoda on the left (the Pagoda's observation floor is awesome and open until 430PM)

To get to the Mt Penn Fire Tower from the top of the mountain just go right across Skyline Drive ( instead of a short left to the Pagoda ). In 2minutes you will see the old stone tower on your right with plenty of parking all around it.

Skyline Drive has beautiful nighttime views of Reading. However, it is NOT safe to be out walking around this area late at night. It is full of drug dealers and peter puffers. If someone flashes their headlites at you - ignore them. All they want is to sell you drugs or smoke your bone.

Pendora Park

This is an old postcard. The bridge looks mostly the same but there is no longer water under it!

Take the Mt Penn Exit of 422 East, go 3 lights and take a left onto Business Rt. 422W (Perkiomen Ave). Go the whole way through Mt Penn until you pass a Subway, Arners Restaurant and cross the Linburgh/Reading Viaduct ( old fashioned cement bridge with fancy light fixtures ). Just BEFORE the viaduct bridge you can turn RIGHT at the STOKESAY CASTLE sign and enter the woods, taking the first left and doubling back on yourself. You will now see the viaduct directly ahead of you. Go under it and Pendora Park is on the right..... OR at the end of the Viaduct, take a left at the light, go down the steep hill and turn into the alley on your left at the end of the park.

For those that are coming thru town, the park sits behind the left side of the 1800 block of Perkiomen Ave as you leave the more ghetto-ish section of Rdg. Turn left onto S 17th Street.

Folks from Out Harrisburg Way: PA Turnpike Exit 286,Take 222 North to 222BUSINESS into Reading. Continue on 222Business. Just past the Queen City Diner, follow signs and turn right onto Rt. 422 East, and follow directions above OR follow the directions to Penns Common/City Park and continue East on Perkiomen Ave and follow directions above "for those of you coming through town"

Hash ONONs here usually have no specific spot - normally wherever the hares find easy parking. Just drive around park and look for idjits standing around drinking beer. We sometimes have ONONs at the firefighers memorial or on one of the streets in or at the edge of the park.

From the South/PA Turnpike: 222N to 222BUSINESS. At the WaWa, turn LEFT on Museum Rd. Follow this (it becomes 5th Ave) past Reading Hospital, turn right at the light onto Penn St. Cross the Schuylkill and RACC is on the right at the end of the bridge.

There is a small pavilion the yard beside the club. Park on the street or in the paved lot where this photo was taken from.

Turn right immediately after the Queen City Diner onto Rt 10 East/South (Morgantown Rd). You will see a frequent Mimmo's Pizza on the right ( a frequent apres location ), Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House on the left and the Thun Trail parking is just past that on the left.
